5 Foolproof Ways to Get Out of the Friend Zone

So, you have a crush on a friend; most of us have at one point or another.

But how can you get out of it? Staying hooked into the fantasy or hope that one day he’ll “wake up” to your sexy awesome-ness is just that: a fantasy. Instead, take action now to preserve your great friendship AND open up to being found by that man who wants to be your partner.

Dating with Dignity has five foolproof ways to get yourself out of the friend zone ASAP.

1. Shift your focus.

Accept your friendship, but treat it as just that: friendship. Enjoy your guy as a friend. As you begin to transition away from seeing him as your crush, it’s time to set more boundaries. Stick to activities that are friendly only; stop going out to dinner with just the two of you, cooking together, hitting the grocery store to pick up a few things, and movie nights in the theatre (or even worse, at home).

Instead, focus on doing platonic activities such as watching a game together or hanging out in groups. When something goes awry — or even when you get the best news ever — try to avoid going to him as your “first call,” reaching out instead to people with whom it’s appropriate to make deeper connections.

As you start valuing your friendship in a non-romantic way, you’ll have more time to make yourself available to date, strengthen your other friendships, and as a bonus may find that you either don’t actually like him “that way” once you begin to create some distance. Over time, your crush may start to see you in a new way as he also detaches from the friend zone, which could lead to his actually asking you out on a date …

Zone Hitting – Working the Pitch Count

Undisciplined hitting has two major pitfalls. First, the batter is not swinging at pitches that are located where he hits most effectively, resulting in weak grounders or fly balls and easy outs. Second, a team of undisciplined hitters will never (and I mean NEVER!) press the opposing pitcher to the point of breakdown. Bottom line is that the pitcher will always maintain control of the ballgame as long as he can count on hitters swinging at his pitch and not theirs.

There are many ways to have a good at bat (let’s call it a QAB or quality at bat) from this point on. QAB’s come from good clean hits. The pitcher throws the all, you hit it hard, it finds a hole and you’re on base. That’s the most obvious QAB. The less obvious ones come from forcing the pitcher to throw you your pitch or taking him deep into the count before getting a walk or making an out. Both should be rewarded by teammates for reasons I will explain later.

Let’s start by defining a QAB. This is a concept you must learn, understand, and apply every at bat from this point on. A quality at bat is any at bat you have that results in either you getting on base via a hit or walk, or you forcing the pitcher to throw more than four pitchers. Why four? Because if I, as a pitcher, can get you out in 4 pitches and I can do it again for each of your teammates, then my pitch count is 12 pitches per inning, 108 for the game. That’s not too bad for a pitcher. Also, it means that you, as a hitter, are only getting 12-16 pitches (if that) per game to hit. Later in the game, you’ll …

Guide to Explore Dun Morogh Achievement

Dun Morogh is one of the more sprawling World of Warcraft zones in the game, and filled with mini locations to that need to be unlocked. As a result, it can be difficult and time consuming to get every mini-zone credited, especially if you are any other race barring a Gnome or Dwarf, who started here. Use our guide to exploring Dun Morogh effectively and you will have a good walk-through of all the locations.

Explore Dun Morogh Guide

For Horde faction players, start your exploration at the North Gate Outpost (83,41), after coming through from the Wetlands and Arathi Highlands. Alliance players on the other hand should start at the Gates of Ironforge (52,35). From the North Gate Outpost, travel south towards the South Gate Outpost (85,51), then to Helm’s Bed Lake (76,54) and Gol’Bolar Quarry (68,56).

Continue north to Amberstill Ranch (63,50), then onto Misty Pine Refuge (58,44) and then follow on south to The Tundrid Hills (56,57). From this point, go north to Kharanos (46,52) and Shimmer Ridge (40,38). Travel west to the Iceflow Lake (34,42) and then on to Gnomeregan (24,40), Brewnall Village (30,45) and Frostmane Hold (25,50). Go to Chill Breeze Valley (36,52) next, and then the Grizzled Den (42,58). Finally, head on over to Coldridge Pass (34,69) and Anvilmar (28,67) to wrap things up.

This route will take you through a large number of spots as you explore Dun Morogh. If you are an Alliance character with a ground mount, expect it take at least 20-30 minutes. If you are a Horde player, you may need to spend as much as an hour to skulk your way around the Alliance camps and NPCs that litter this WoW zone. And the Gates of Ironforge (52,35) …

Woodsball Game Variations

Slayer or simply called elimination is a woodsball game type that usually involves two teams competing against each other, but can sometimes involve three or more teams for a free for all competition. Though not really a special game type as slayer type games are also available to speedball.

Slayer games are played like “last man standing” games, as the objectives of the game is to eliminate opposing enemies until a team completely eliminates them. There are other ways to play slayer games with slight modifications such as there are some perks wherein a player that has been marked or eliminated can rejoin the game on special conditions.

Another woodsball game type, this game a team that must keep the enemy out of a given area for defending, and another team must break through the line of defense. In siege games teams are split evenly, one being the attackers and the other as defenders. The defenders take the field first and form a defense formation around the area that they are going to protect. The game’s objective is for the attackers to advance to the enemy’s defenses and get a designated item or rescue a hostage, depending on the agreed rules before the start of the game. The game may also end if the attackers can eliminate all the defending enemies.

Consequently the defending team will win if they have successfully defended their area within a set amount of time, meaning this type of game has a time limit. Also the defending teams may win if they also eliminate all the attackers. Siege games are also called attack and defend games where the attackers have a limited amount of time usually around 30 – 40 minutes to accomplish the game’s objective.

The same as slayer games, siege games …

Is Bowling a 300 Game a Perfect Game or Perfect Score?

As bowlers we all hope to achieve this great accomplishment, but is the name correct?

The majority of bowlers spend many years bowling, watching themselves or others throw a 300 game aka “Perfect game”, however we never really take the time to think is it really perfect. We all know the definition of perfect, now did you just throw the perfect game? or did you just throw 12 strikes? more likely than not you just threw 12 strikes in a row. Congratulations you just bowled a 300 game. You have reached the maximum score possible in a single game of bowling. We see that achieving a 300 game does not mean a perfect game, it just means you bowled a perfect score.

Now a lot of bowlers will say yes I did bowl a perfect game. Did you throw 12 100% identical shots with the exact same release, reaction and hit the pocket at the exact same mark every time? You may have. Does that mean you just bowled a 300 game? No it doesn’t. There can be many different factors that prevented your score from reaching 300. A major factor in bowling that may have caused this is old-fashioned bad luck or what we call “bad breaks” in bowling. This is when you do something perfect and the result is nothing close to what it should be. One example is throwing a perfect pocket shot and leaving a 7 10 split, we have all done this at some time aka the “bad break”.

Millions of bowlers have watched a fellow bowler bowl a perfect game and never even knew it. You may ask why didn’t I notice it. This is because he may have only bowled a 202 game. Now you’re saying but a 202 game isn’t a perfect …

Goalies Playing in the Zone

Learn to play your game in the present. What do I mean by this? When you are playing, it is easy to start thinking about mistakes you have made in the past or fears about what might happen in the future. When you do this, you are not playing “in the present” at that time.

Why is this important to understand? In order to play “in the zone” your mind and body must be working in harmony, playing the game “in the present,” focusing on the play at hand, not the past or the outcome.

You see, if you are playing in the present, there is no pressure on you. Pressure exists when you dwell on mistakes of the past, or fears about the future. Think about this for second. If you are truly focused on the play at hand, and only concerned with doing your best at that moment, you will have no pressure on you. This means your muscles will be loose and relaxed. Your mind will be focused. You will be at your best!

Focus on the process, not the outcome.

This takes practice. You need to work at it. Your habitual thinking can start without you even noticing. Start paying attention to your thoughts during the game when the play is out of your zone. If you are thinking about the past or future, you need to take a deep breath or two and clear your mind. Use a buzz word such as “Focus” or “Clear” and continue to breathe deeply while focusing on the play at that moment. You will get better at clearing out this past and future thinking over time.

Work at keeping your focus external.

If you find yourself starting to focus internally– thinking about how you feel or thinking about the …

Influence of Filipino Martial Arts on Western Boxing

Before there was Manny Pacquiao here were other Filipinos making a name in western boxing. Filipinos have been in the game of western boxing since the early 1900’s. Since then Filipinos have also helped to revolutionize what is known as western boxing. In taking a brief look at the history of western boxing and the time Filipinos have been exposed to it you will see what transpired.

Go back to the early 1900’s. Picture the US military in Hawaii. The US brought to Hawaii with them the sport of boxing. The Filipino migrant workers brought with them various forms of Filipino Martial Arts like kali, escrima and arnis just to name a few. Combine those two and you get the beginning of the evolution of western boxing.

Did you know that there were Filipino World Champions in boxing dating back to the 1920’s? Would you recognize the names Francisco Guilledo “Pancho Villa”, Ceferina Garcia, Dado Marinom, Flash Elorde or Bernard Docusen? Odds are like mot those names are unknown. In short, Bernard Docusen “Filipino Cajun” in 1948 lost a decision to Sugar Ray Robinson in a welterweight title match. If you know anything about boxing odds are you have heard of Sugar Ray Robinson. Francisco Guillerdo was so good in the sport of boxing that he was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 1961. There were many more great pinoy boxers but sadly are not very well known.

What is even lesser known was the influence Pinoy boxers had on western boxing as a whole. The Pinoy fighters brought in aspects of kali, arnis and escrima into the sport. The Pinoy fighters had to adjust their styles to conform to the rules of the sport. Basically anything considered illegal or “dirty” boxing was what the Pinoy fighters had to …

Coaching Outside Linebackers

The hardest position on the field for most defenses is the Outside Linebacker. In a typical 8-man Front, such as the 3-5-3 or 4-2-5 defenses, these players have dual responsibilities.

The Outside Linebacker is primarily responsible for containing the run, forcing the ball carrier to turn back inside on edge runs. He can also force the ball carrier to bubble and work laterally to the sideline, allowing pursuit to get there to help.

The second responsibility for the OLB is to cover the flats on the pass. Typically, 8-man fronts are going to be running Cover 3 as the base coverage.

Most defensive coordinators use a mixture of Zone and Man coverages. The OLB will normally be locked on the #2 Receiver to his side in Cover 1 or Cover 0, a slot or Tight End. When a player is locked up in man coverage, he cannot be considered a part of the run defense.

The Outside Linebacker’s alignment will depend on your defense and his abilities. Typically, he will be somewhere in the range of 3-5 yards outside of the End Man on the Line of Scrimmage (EMOLS) and 2-5 yards off the Line of Scrimmage (LOS).

If there is a #2 receiver, the OLB commonly uses an apex alignment, 5 yards off the ball and halfway between the EMOLS and the slot. Depending on the team and the ability of the slot, you may choose to align him closer to the slot to deter the pass or tighter to the EMOLS to help on the running game.

Keys and Reaction

The OLB’s primary key is the EMOLS, a Tackle or Tight End, for a High-Hat, Low Hat read. High Hat, meaning the OT’s helmet pops up as in a pass set, tells him the play is …
